According to Geosphere Austria, highs around 25 degrees are expected during the upcoming Pentecost weekend. The sun can be seen frequently
Vienna weather in detail
Thanks to the influence of high pressure, an often sunny long Pentecost weekend can be expected, accompanied by highs around 25 degrees Celsius, according to Geosphere Austria’s forecast. On Tuesday, however, this weather situation should change again, but any thunderstorms will form relatively small-scale and remain warm.
Friday still changeable with short rain showers
Along and north of the Alps, it will be only partly sunny from early morning on Friday, as low cloud banks may make themselves felt again and again. In most cases, it will remain dry; only short rain showers are possible during the day. On the southern side of the Alps, the sun will shine long before a few more giant clouds form, especially from midday. The tendency for short rain showers remains relatively low, even over the mountains.
The wind will blow partly briskly from the north, especially on the eastern edge of the Alps, but it will remain light in many regions. Early temperatures will range from seven to 14 degrees and rise to 18 to 24 degrees during the day.
Saturday will be dry with lots of sunshine.
During the day, it will be mostly sunny on Saturday, besides high, thin cloud fibres; also, shallow spring clouds will remain without precipitation in the mountains. In the far east, a brisk north wind will blow. Six to 13 degrees in the morning will be followed by daytime highs between 17 and 25 degrees, with the highest values expected in the far west and south.
Up to 26 degrees are forecast for Pentecost Sunday
High pressure will continue to dominate the weather on Sunday. Thus, the sun will shine widely, and only shallow cumulus clouds will often form during the day. Only in the mountains, spring clouds may become denser in the afternoon and bring isolated thundery showers. It is generally only lightly windy. From six to eleven degrees becomes 20 to 26 degrees during the day, with the higher values in the west.
Sunny holiday offers perfect weather for excursions
On Monday, high-pressure influence will remain predominant. Thus, there will be many hours of sunshine in all parts of the country and stable, dry weather away from the mountains. In the afternoon, mighty spring clouds will form over the hills, and isolated small-scale rain showers or thunderstorms will develop.
The wind will blow weakly from north to east, resulting in early morning temperatures of eight to 14 degrees Celsius and daytime highs of 20 to 26 degrees Celsius.
Weather situation changes from Tuesday
On Tuesday, the weather situation will change little. The sun will shine widely before some spring clouds slowly form at noon and in the afternoon. In the mountainous and hilly areas, the tendency for showers and thunderstorms will increase somewhat, but isolated, small-scale shower cells will develop. Away from the mountains, it will remain largely precipitation-free. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from north to east. Eight to 15 degrees Celsius are expected in the morning hours; the day’s maximum temperatures are forecast at 20 to 27 degrees.
